It’s in Belgium

In Bruges is In Cinemas at the moment. It’s a black comedy featuring Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes. Farrell and Gleeson are two London-based hitmen of Irish extraction who are lying low in Bruges after a job goes wrong.

Farrell is young and impatient, unimpressed by Bruges’ medieval charms, Gleeson is older and more phlegmatic. Together they form a classically odd couple as they wait to hear from their employer.

The film is littered throughout with memorable one liners and funny situations especially earlier on before the key protagonists’ violent profession catches up with them and the film becomes blacker.

In Bruges is very entertaining but touching as well and leaves the viewer well satisfied. Just remember, “a bottle is a deadly weapon, if someone comes at you with one of those it’s you or him”.
