In a break with tradition we’ve already booked some holiday time in 2008. At this rate I may even avoid carrying over holidays to next year for the first time at work 🙂
Not a huge vacation but still 10 days in San Sebastian in the Basque region of northern Spain. It’s a coastal resort right by the border with France and a mecca for foodies with the highest per capita concentration of Michelin star restaurants in Europe.
As times have changed the visitors have gone from members of the French royal court during La Belle Epoque to surfers. And now it will play host to Casa Casey Courtney. Anyone leaving comments about this confirming a downward trend will be severely dealt with… surfers are surely an improvement on 19th century monarchs 😉
Obviously this one has plenty of legs. Expect further posts as plans develop.
Just to sketch you an outline, my hopes for the trip are;
- some sun and warmth, but not too scorchikos please,
- catching up on my booklist,
- lots of lovely food,
- lovely wine in moderation,
- lovely sleep (no moderation),
- mooshing around with Nathalie,
- precious few plans and plenty of spontaneity.
