Just back from Will Ferrell’s appearance in UCD to collect the James Joyce Award from the Literary and Historical Society. He was great and a fantastic guest for the L&H to have got. He mounted the stage clad head to toe in Carroll’s Irish Gift Shop’s finest apart from an incongruous pair of his own leather loafers, wisecracked at length and was very patient with some truly ridiculous questions afterwards (some of them were downright incendiary). Also he stayed for an hour afterwards to sign autographs, take photos and even deliver one lucky raffle winner a high-five from the man who kept San Diego classy. Photos will follow.
