Seaview, a documentary film about the experiences of asylum seekers living in Ireland (and in what used to be Mosney Holiday Camp), will be shown at next month’s Berlin Film Festival. People from over 50 different countries are waiting at Mosney, and some of them are there for years.
It screened at the Irish Film Institute in September and I’m gutted I missed it; but hopefully it will open up to a bigger audience here soon. The Chancer posted a trailer of the film today, along with these glowing words:
“It’s a compelling, quietly moving tale of people trying to get on with their lives, and pretty much mantatory viewing for anyone out there who gives a shite about the right old state of the nation”
Check the Still Films website for info on when it’s going to be back. In the meantime, here’s the trailer.
